In 2009, inspired by the film Paranormal Activity, I set out to create my own take on the haunted-house concept. Flemnormal Activity, however, wasn’t a big-budget production—it was a lighthearted project made with my nephews during a babysitting session. What started as a playful experiment turned into a memorable and laughter-filled story that we still talk about today.
I’ve always enjoyed creating content for all ages, and this project was my way of blending humor with inspiration from a popular movie. My nephews were in on the joke from the beginning—they knew a haunted pet fish wasn’t scary, and that’s exactly what made it so much fun. Even a decade later, watching Flemnormal Activity guarantees a good laugh.
One of the best parts of this project was how involved my nephews were. They helped shape the storyline, edited parts of the project, and even chose the ending. I wanted them to feel like equals in the process, showing them that creativity is for everyone—not just for big studios. Their excitement and ideas brought the project to life in ways I couldn’t have done alone.
Unlike most productions, Flemnormal Activity wasn’t about overcoming challenges. It was purely about enjoying the process. There was no stress—just a shared sense of fun and a desire to see if we could turn a silly idea into a complete story.
The experience of creating Flemnormal Activity left a lasting impression on my family. My youngest nephew, Sam, even credits the project as an early inspiration in his creative journey. Now a recording artist, he looks back on that day as proof that anything is possible when you take a chance on your ideas.
